Cellist Catherine Clyatt Schroth presents works from her début album “Songs for My Son,” a cross-genre album featuring classical, children’s, and devotional works, as well as several newly commissioned original works and arrangements by Evan Fein.

Guest artists will include pianist Ron Palka and violinist Mary Price.

Internationally acclaimed cellist-composer Yuriy Leonovich gives the World Première of Evan Fein’s “Romances de Verlaine” for unaccompanied cello, a cycle of “songs without words” inspired by the French poet Paul Verlaine (1844-1896).

An evening of works for tenor and piano by American composers with connections to Iceland and Icelandic composers with connections to America.

Composers include Evan Fein, Joseph Hallman, Halldór Smárason, & Jón Leifs.

Nesin Cultural Arts Summer Music Academy Faculty members join in concert for students and parents on the final day of the 2016 Academy.  Featuring a variety of chamber music favorites (and one premiere) performed by Akiko Hosoi, Andrew Trombley, Marina Lombardi, Mark Dover, Jessica Nesin, Mariko Furukawa, Gemma Baehr, and Evan Fein.

“Sailing on Starlight” (2014) will receive its American premiere by students of Ruth Inglefield during the USA International Harp Competition’s Composer’s Forum in Bloomington, Indiana.  This work, originally commissioned for Caroline Cole, was recognized as a Semi-Finalist in this year’s USA IHC Composition Competition.

Performance to be held in Auer Hall at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.

Einstein Rings, a new work for symphonic wind ensemble, receives its world première by the Case Symphonic Winds under the baton of Dr. Gary M. Ciepluch.

Inspired by the concepts of Dark Matter and Gravitational Lensing, this work will be played by a wonderful ensemble made of music majors, physicists, engineers, pre-med students, and more.

Renowned baritone and member of New York Polyphony, Christopher Dylan Herbert will perform “Sál mín svífur burt,” from Fein’s song cycle New Icelandic Folksongs (Op. 9, Lyrics by Thorvaldur David Kristjánsson), with pianist Will Kelley.

The performance takes place as part of the Juilliard Vocal Arts Department’s ongoing “Wednesdays at One” series.  These one-hour grab-bag recitals take place at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, and are free and open to the public.

Continuing its commitment to new choral music, Musica Sacra’s final concert pairs Mozart’s Solemn Vespers, K. 339 with a newly commissioned work by American composer Evan Fein: Deborah, an oratorio exploring the Biblical character drawn from the Book of Judges. The performance and commission are made possible by the Tikkun Olam Foundation, Inc.
