Performance Date: March 9, 2024: Palmieri’s “Missa a Buenos Aires” also known as “MisaTango” with mezzo-soprano Malena Dayen as the soloist. The concert will also include music by Ola Giejlo and Evan Fein.

Fein was named the winner of the 2022 American Prize for Composition for his art song “Greenport, Long Island: A Socially-Distanced Diva” - the work had previously won the 2021 NYC songSLAM competition, hosted by the leading art song advocacy organization Sparks & Wiry Cries, where it was performed by the composer in collaboration with soprano April Martin.

“I grew up on classical repertoire and the great romantic piano works. But you can’t play only old works forever. You’ve got to keep writing. This is what keeps the art alive,” Fein said.
